The University of London was established in 1836, and what distinguishes it from other institutions is that it consists of 19 separate colleges, which are somewhat independent in nature. Therefore, the University of London is the largest institution of higher learning in the UK by number of students enrolled.

The degrees offered at the University of London, as can be guessed, are extremely varied – there is a foundation course, together with a good range of undergraduate, postgraduate degrees and diplomas, as well as research degrees. In addition, there is a Taster Course program for pre-university students. Finally, the institution is very proud with the other services it offers, namely a careers service, data archiving and networking, and conference facilities.
