Nassau is the capital of Bahamas and is located in the Northwest coast of New Providence Island. It was founded in 1656 and it is the most interesting city to visit in Bahamas. There are many interesting buildings from the architectural viewpoint, Victorian houses as well as luxurious apartments. Some of those interesting buildings are the Parliament and the courthouses. Other places of interest in Nassau are the ports built in the 18th century, such as Port Charlotte.

If you wish to go shopping in Nassau, Bay Street is the place to go. It is full of stores where you can find just about everything. You will also find the important banks there. You can also try shopping in the old quarter where you will find traditional crafts.

Other important cities of Bahamas are Grand Bahama, Freeport y Lucaya.

Grand Bahama is in the north and it is the fourth largest island. Its beaches are of white sand and the water is crystal clear. It is a good place for diving.

Freeport is the second largest city in Bahamas and Lucaya’s twin city. Since the fifties Freeport and Lucaya have grown and develop to become the second tourist destination in Bahamas, after Nassau.

Other islands in Bahamas are Abacos, Andros, Islas Berry, Bimini, Isla Cat, Eleuthera, Exumas, Inaguas, Long Island, Mayaguana and San Salvador.
