Study in Nassau, Bahamas

Study in Nassau, Bahamas

One of the best places to feel truly alive is in hearty, passionate city of Nassau. The high-energy of Bahamas’ capital is absolutely infectious, turning even the most lethargic traveler into an enthusiastic, adventure-seeking rebel. Students will find the island limited in terms of coursework, but absolutely unlimited in terms of life experience.

Despite the high enrollment and literacy rates that run rampant in the Bahamas, there are not many higher education opportunities available to graduating students. The nation itself recognizes one main college in Nassau: the College of the Bahamas. Though the college is striving to achieve university status, it still offers a fairy limited program surrounding technical degrees and teaching programs. There are other so-called ‘colleges’ in Nassau, but these mainly cater to primary and secondary students, as opposed to offering higher education courses.

At this point in time, the only other way to study higher education courses in Nassau is to take a study abroad program through a foreign school. These programs will offer courses, housing and sometimes campuses in Nassau, though they will usually not offer complete degree courses based entirely on the island.

Nassau offers so many activities, sights and experiences that students might just be overwhelmed. From its historical pirate museum to its wildlife-filled zoo, even the sightseeing in Nassau is full of excitement. Amidst the vibrant, lively markets there are some great opportunities for Caribbean seafood. Students can even explore the most amazing new activities through scuba diving, snorkeling, water skiing, swimming and even the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity of shark diving!
