The International University of Catalunya is an institution of higher learning, which started its operations in 1997. The school offers University degrees, master and postgraduate degrees, PhDs, and International Programs in a variety of fields. As of the 2008-2009 academic year, it made all study programs compliant with the regulations established by the European Higher Education Area (EHEA). This meant imparting all bachelor and diploma courses as formal degree programs. It also introduced new courses, such as the Degree in Medicine, The Degree in Publicity and Public Relations, and The Degree in Political Science and Public Administration. The university highly stresses the importance of personalized education, and keeps all its lectures at a maximum of 80 students per lecture; about 40% of the learning program is dedicated to practical-based classes, too.
