Athabasca University is a Canadian institution of higher learning, located in Athabasca, Alberta. It was established in 1970, and is an accredited research university. It is known with the fact that it provides the opportunity to professionals to finish undergraduate, graduate, and certificate programs – the school has been chosen by Canadian athletes, politicians, and broadcasters because of the flexibility of the courses it offers.

The programs that the university offers are extremely varied, and range from Arts to Nursing; they are taught in English, but some are provided in French as well. The option for online and distance learning is readily available, too. What is noteworthy is that the university’s Executive MBA program was rated in the top 75 by the Financial Times in 2004. This was the only executive MBA program on the list that is delivered entirely online.
