The American School of Madrid is an institution established in 1961. It is situated on a 10-acre campus in Pozuelo de Alarcón, a suburban residential area, about twelve kilometers outside of Madrid, Spain. Its primary aim was to respond to the needs of international executives and their families by providing a curriculum in English that would prepare graduates for entrance into American, Spanish and other universities around the world. Today students come from nearly 50 countries and are offered the opportunity to follow the US College Preparatory Curriculum, the IB Program, and the Official Spanish Program. The school also offers modern and spacious facilities, a very low student-teacher ratio, a variety of extracurricular activities and enrichment opportunities (field trips, athletic trips, cultural events, etc.).
