Visa application requirements for Puerto Rico

Citizens of the following countries that are excused from tourist visa requirements and can settle for up to 90 days are Uruguay, United Kingdom, Switzerland, Sweden, Spain, Slovenia, Singapore, San Marino, Luxembourg, Liechtenstein, Japan, Italy, Iceland, Germany, France, Finland, Denmark, Brunei, Belgium, Australia, Austria, Argentina and Andorra.

The following documents are required: 2 copies of application forms; 1 photograph (1in x 1.5in); passport applicable for travel to the country, with an official date for at least 6 months after the applicant's planned period of stay; and proof of sufficient funds.

The requirements for postal box applications are visa application form DS-156 and DS-157; valid passport for 6 months after entry; 1 passport-colored photo (5x5 cm, head size 2,5 - 3,5 cm, front view, light background); copy of Embassy's payment slip; supporting documents DS-158 (male ranges from 16 to 45 also require a DS-157); stamped, self-addressed envelope; purpose of visit and proof of intent to return to country of origin.

The average time required to release a visa is 3 to 4 weeks. Application fee for visa is non-refundable and cost US$100; regardless if the visa is denied or issued. Most visas have a specific validity date, except noted as valid indefinitely and in that scenario the visa is applicable for 10 years. The officials of immigration will decided the duration of stay.
