Oman is mainly comprised of vast deserts, beaches and mountains. The most exciting nature-related activities that you can indulge in the country are sand skiing, camping, beach-walking, and hiking, mountain-climbing and camel racing and many others. Among the most popular destinations in Oman are Jebel Shams, the country's highest peak and R'as-al-Hadd Beach.

Bahla in Oman is known for its seven-mile great walls that tell how the country withstood the test of time. People from here contributed to the fame of their place by their remarkable art of pottery. Bahla is recognized as a World Heritage Site from where the also popular Al Hamra Village is located nearby.

If tourists want to see a great land of vegetation then Salalah is the place they should be. It is known for the fertile banana and coconut plantations. It is also popular for the Al-Balid ruins which is the former abundant city of Zafar. In the outskirts of the city are beautiful beaches.

Nizwa, which once became Oman’s capital in the 6th to 7th century, is known for the country’s largest and oldest fort. It has been considered one of the Popular Destinations in Oman for its gold and silver works.

Jebel Akhdar, which means “the Green Mountain” in Arabic, is a wonderful island of date palms and scenic villages like Bani Habib and Sharijah. It stands 3000 meters above sea level. The place is also known for the burial places of Oman’s ancient leaders particularly located in Rostaq.

Aside from being considered as one of the popular destinations in Oman, Sohar is also unique. It is known for its museum which is a must-see for all the visitors. Most importantly, Sohar is said to be the birthplace of the sailor, Sinbad.

Muscat, the capital city and the largest one is known for its wonderful shopping areas where visitors can buy traditional handicrafts. In the city can be found the remains of what once used to be a port. In the city lie meticulously engraved forts like that of the Portuguese.
