Being blessed with a diverse topography, Nepal offers some of the tourist activities like: trekking, rafting, and jungle safari.

Considered as the haven for the “roof of the world”, Nepal’s peaks readily provide a majestic adventure to any tourist. The most popular, and arguably one of the most beautiful trekking sites in Nepal is the highest mountain peak in the world - Mount Everest. Other well known trekking sites include Annapura, which is a Sanskrit name that means “Goddess of the Harvest”, and Makalu-Barun – a 2,330 square kilometer region featuring a rugged landscape of towering Himalayan peaks and deep river gorges.

Lush with natural beauty, Nepal’s rivers give reality to the most ardent river riders in the world. Some of the more prominent river rafting sites in Nepal are the: Karnali River, Trisuli River, Arun River, Bheri River, Kali Gandaki River, Sun Khosi River, Seti River, Tamur River, and Marsyangdi River.

The lowland region of Terai is known to be covered with dense tropical jungles teeming with rich fauna and flora. Aside from these jungles, there are national parks and wild life reserves which serve as a home for the endangered one-horned rhino, the Royal Benegal tiger, the Gharial crocodile, the four-horned antelope, triped hyena, and Gangetic dolphin.

Not to be forgotten of course are the regions of Kathmandu, Patan, Bhaktapur, Pokhara, Tansen, and Gorkha. Most of the events in the history of Nepal were witnessed by these cities’ neighborhoods, and streets – truly a must see for every tourist, and indeed a national treasure.
