Visa application requirements for Malta

Going to Malta would be dependent on what country of origin the applicant is from. There are some citizens from certain countries that may be required visas, there are some citizens from certain countries that would not need apply for a visa and need only a passport to get into Malta and there are some nationals from selected countries that get admission into Malta even with expired passports and identity cards only. Visitors from Austria, Belgium, France, Greece, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain and Slovenia can always go to Malta as long as they have valid identity cards. Malta is also a member of the Schengen states which includes Austria, Belgium, The Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain and Sweden, visa approved from any of the Schengen member countries can also go about Malta in a cumulative 6 months period.

For those who need to go through the visa application process, a triplicate copy of the application form, passport that is valid for at least 6 months and two passport-sized photos are required to be brought along to have the application process flowing accordingly.

For those who wished to do business in Malta would need those requirements stated above but needs additional requirements like an invitation from a Malta-based company, a business letter of responsibility with a company letterhead explaining the nature of business to be conducted in the country, name and address of reference and guarantee of return passport along with necessary funds to cover costs while doing business in Malta.
