A Mediterranean climate is the character of Lebanon's atmosphere. Hot during summer and rainy in winter. Fall is a transition in which the lowering of the atmospheric temperature happens, and the occurrence of little rain is also present. When rains in the winter nourish and revive the vegetation in the area, a mark of spring is in the process. A variation of climactic pattern is also a characteristic of Lebanon. In coastal areas, a humid and a hot summer with very little rain is the pattern.

The obstruction or presence of the mountains of Lebanon is protecting the valley of Biqa from the effects of the sea. This results to lesser rainfall and humidity, and a wider span of temperature variations in every day and annual temperatures. Due to the Lebanon mountains, khamsin does not happen in Biqa valley. The northern winter winds are the one affecting the valley which is very severe to a point of frostbites. Certain areas in the valley such as the highest point which is 1,100 meters receives greater snow fall compared to other altitudes of the place.

Lebanon's average temperature is 20.2˚C (68˚F). August is the hottest time of the year reaching high temperatures of 30˚C, in contrast, the coldest or coolest time of the year is January and February dropping temperatures to 10˚C. The climate in the area receives an average of 601mm or 23.7 inches of rainfall every year, this account to 50mm or 2 inches every month. The driest months are June, July, and August when there is barely rain which averaging to 1mm of rainfall. The time where it’s wettest is during the month of January, averaging 140mm or 5.5 inches of rainfall/ precipitation that occurs in the span of 16 days. Humidity ranges every month- 66% during the month of November to 73% during the months of July and August. An average sunlight of 2940 hours occurs in Lebanon throughout the year which is an average sunlight of 8.1 hours per day.
