There are numerous attractive and interesting places to visit in Iceland. In this country anything is possible. Some famous lakes in the country are Apavatn (located in southwest Iceland and recognized for its good fishing), Blöndulón (largest lake in Iceland and located near Kjölur), Elliðavatn (located in the vicinity of Reykjavík), Frostastaðavatn (sited in the Highlands of Iceland), Hóp (near Blönduós at the Húnafjörður), Lagarfljót (sited near Egilsstaðir), Þingvallavatn (situated in the south-west of the country), Tjörnin (situated in central Reykjavík and preferred spot for the children to catch and feed the geese, seagulls, swans and ducks that dwell there), Nyrðra-Vatnalautavatn (located in Ófeigsfjarðarheiði and well-known for its distinctive name) and among others.

Places include on World Heritage list are Þingvellir National Park and Surtsey. Part of the tentative list are Breiðafjörður, Gásar, Herðubreiðarlindir and Askja, Keldur, Mývatn - Laxá, Núpsstaður, Reykholt, Skaftafell and Viðmýri Turf Church.

The finest beaches in the country are Álftanes (located in Greater Reykjavik); Budir (one of the uncommon light colored beaches in the country and deeply emphasized by black basalt lava and sited in west Iceland); Djúpárlónssandur (located near Snaefellsnes-East Iceland where you can find exceptional rock sculptures); Kirkjubol (located at west Iceland and suitable for travelers); Nautholsvik (located in Greater Reykjavik Area and has freshwater pools suitable for families) and Reynisfjara (sited near town of Vik-South Iceland and has a natural black sand and pebble). And some of the famous parks in the country are Jökulsárgljúfur, Skaftafell, Snæfellsjökull, Þingvellir and Vatnajökull.
