Visa application requirements for Guyana

For people coming from other countries who want to enter Guyana for tourism purposes or official business, here are the guidelines:

1.Application forms must be completed and made on the prearranged forms at the consulate offices or Guyana missions who are allowed to issue visas.

2.Applicants who are citizens of other states or countries where there are no consulate offices or Guyana missions must direct their journey so as to uplift a visa at a suitable point en route to Guyana.

3.Applications for visa to Guyana can also be done through mail.

4.The following documents should be available when filling your application:

Completed visa application form in triplicate

Valid passport, with at least 6 months validity

3 recent passport size photos

support of sufficient funds or proof of applicant’s support while in Guyana

Letter of Approval from the Ministry of Home Affairs, if travelling to take up employment or residency

5.The applicant must submit his completed application form with evidence of travel plans to the Guyana Embassy or Guyana consulate offices.

6.With regards to the visa fees, tourists need to pay an amount of US$30. For business travellers: US$40 for a single entry; US$50 for multiple entries in 3 months; and US$75 for multiple entries in a year.

7.Applications for visa sent through mail must come with a Money Order of US$6.00 for the cost of registered returned postage. Also, they do not accept personal checks.

It is very important to remember that the granting of visa does not automatically guarantee an entry to Guyana. One still has to follow immigration procedures and submit the necessary documents.
