100 Scholarships from African-American Colleges and Universities

1. Colby College Ralph J. Bunche Scholarship
Where: Colby College, U.S.
Amount: $200 - $10,000 per year
Eligibility: Open to African American, Native American, Asian American and Latino high school seniors who are going to attend Colby College and can demonstrate leadership potential.
Between 30 and 50 awards are given each year and the number is decided based on the number of applicants and their financial need. This scholarship is renewable for up to three years, granted the student continued to meet the criteria.

2. Ron Brown Scholar Program
Where: U.S.
Amount: 10 scholarships of $40,000, issued to each of the recipients in four annual installments of $10,000
Eligibility: Available to African American high school seniors who are U.S. citizens or holders of a permanent residence visa card. Besides demonstrating financial need, applicants must excel academically, exhibit exceptional leadership potential and participate in community service activities.
The programprovides academic scholarships, service opportunities and leadership experiences for young African Americans of outstanding promise.

3. Ronald McDonald House Charity (RMHC)
Where: U.S.
Amount: $1000 minimum
Eligibility: Open to legal U.S. residents who are high school seniors younger than 21 and live in a participating RMHC Chapter’s geographic area.
There are three different scholarships available, with different requirements, so make sure to check the website for details on eligibility for each individual program.

4. The Jackie Robinson Foundation
Where: U.S.
Amount: up to $7,500 per year, for four years
Eligibility: Open to graduating minority high school seniors, who are U.S. citizens and are planning on attending a four-year university within the U.S. and can present evidence of financial need.
This scholarship requires an online application, 1 letter of recommendation and SAT scores. The Jackie Robinson Foundation provides generous four–year college scholarships, as well as a comprehensive set of skills and opportunities to disadvantaged students of color to ensure their success in college and to develop their leadership potential.

5. Sachs Foundation Undergraduate Scholarship
Where: Colorado, U.S.
Amount: Varies – the award was worth $5000 in previous years.
Eligibility: African American high school seniors or high school graduates from Colorado who are not enrolled into college.
If the recipient maintains the requested grade point average, grades and other conditions, this scholarship is renewable for four years. There are 35 grants that are awarded every year.

6. Thurgood Marshall College Fund
Where: U.S.
Amount: $3,100 per student, per semester
Eligibility: Must be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident with a valid permanent resident card or passport stamped I-551 in order to be eligible for this award. This scholarship requires a recommendation by a Faculty Staff or member of your current school. Applicants must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale and they must attend one of the 47 TMCF Member Schools.
Most scholarships are one-year, non-renewable. TMCF scholarships are merit and need-based. In addition, the scholarship application process is highly competitive and most awards are limited to students attending TMCF member-schools.

7. The Gates Millennium Scholarship
Where: Universities in the U.S.
Amount: Varies
Eligibility: Available to members of one of the following ethnicities: African American, American Indian-Alaska Native, Asian & Pacific Islander American, or Hispanic American who are U.S. citizens OR legal permanent residents with a valid permanent resident card or passport stamped I-551.
The Gates Millennium Scholars (GMS) Program selects 1,000 talented students each year to receive a good-through-graduation scholarship to use at any college or university of their choice.

8. Herman J. Neal Scholarship
Where: Illinois, U.S.
Amount: Up to $4000 per year
Eligibility: Available to African American college students (juniors or seniors) or graduates students who are pursuing a degree in accounting at an Illinois state university or college. Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 in order to be considered eligible for this award.
This scholarship is non-renewable and the number of students who receive one varies, depending on the year.

9. Rosewood Family Scholarship Program
Where: Florida, U.S.
Amount: Up to $4000
Eligibility: Open to minority students who are intending to attend a Florida university or college. African-American students will be given priority, granted they are successors of the African-American families in Rosewood that were involved in the events taking place in January of 1923.
This scholarship is renewable. Around 25 grants are available, but amounts are variable, and depend on the funds accessible each year.

10. NABA National Scholarship Program
Where: US
Amount: $1000-$10,000
Eligibility: Open for African American undergraduate or graduate students who are active members of the National Association of Black Accountants (NABA). Applicants are requested to have a 3.3 grade point average.
This is not an automatically renewable grant, but every year, there are 50 students who can benefit from a scholarship. Recipients may reapply the following years, as long as they match the criteria.

11. The Agnes Jones Jackson Scholarship
Where: Universities in the U.S.
Amount: 20-40 scholarships of $2,000
Eligibility: Available for current members of the NAACP who are U.S. citizens and have not reached the age of 25 by the application deadline.
The applicants must demonstrate financial need in order to qualify for this scholarship.
The Agnes Jones Jackson Scholarship was established in the memory of the late Agnes Jones Jackson who was a long time NAACP member from the San Francisco branch.

12. The Hubertus W.V. Willems Scholarship for Male Students
Where: Universities in the United States
Amount: 20 to 40 scholarships of a maximum of $3,000
Eligibility: Available to U.S. citizens and male students who are majoring in one of the following fields: Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematical Sciences. The applicants must demonstrate financial need in order to be eligible for this award.
The Hubertus W.V. Willems Scholarship for Male Students is awarded annually to a male, U.S. citizen who attends an accredited institution in the United States and is majoring in one of the following fields: Engineering, Chemistry, Physics or Mathematical Sciences.

13. GE LNESC National Scholarship
Where: U.S. universities
Amount: $5,000
Eligibility: Open to disadvantaged minority students with career interests in business or engineering. This scholarship requires that the applicant is a U.S. citizen or legal resident and that he/she is a business or engineering major.
The LNESC Scholarship Program is intended to assist and encourage outstanding minority students in completing their college education. The program is directed specifically to disadvantaged minority students with career interests in business or engineering.

14. Irlet Anderson/Charles L. Gittens Scholarship
Where: U.S.
Amount: $1,500 - $5000
Eligibility: Available to African American high school seniors who are pursuing a degree in a field that will help them progress in a career in criminal justice or law enforcement. Applicants must also have a minimum 2.5 grade point average.
These are two annual awards given by National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives (NOBLE): the Irlet Anderson Scholarship, which amounts at $5000 and the Charles L. Gittens Scholarship, which is worth $1,500. Both grants are non-renewable.

15. Brown and Caldwell Minority Scholarship Program
Where: U.S.
Amount: $5000
Eligibility: Open to Black or African American, Asian, Hispanic or Latino, Alaska Native, Pacific Islander or American Indian students who are currently juniors in college with a major in environmental, chemical or civil engineering or environmental sciences (ecology, geology, biology, public health, industrial hygiene toxicology, or hydrogeology). A 3.0 GPA is also required in order to be eligible for this program.
There is one available award each year and it is not renewable. A summer internship is also available at the Brown Caldwell office.

16. Leonard C. Ball & James H. Bell Scholarship Fund
Where: U.S.
Amount: $2000
Eligibility: Available to high school seniors and college undergraduates who are members of the Coalition of Black Trade Unionists (CBTU) and have a minimum grade point average of 2.5.
Each year, there are ten grants awarded and they are non-renewable. The application process includes an essay. The Leonard C. Ball and James H. Bell Scholarship was set up in honor of the first executive director of the Coalition of Black Trade Unionists, Leonard Ball, as well as the president of the Chapter of the Coalition of Black Trade Unionists in New York, Jim Bell.

17. Corris Boyd Scholarship Program

Amount: $40,000
Eligibility: Open to students of color who are attending a healthcare management graduate program. A GPA of minimum 3.0 is needed, as well as proof of acceptance to an AUPHA Full Member master’s program.
There are two grants offered every year and the scholarship is non-renewable. Selection of recipients is based on things like community involvement, academic achievements, leadership qualities, commitment to healthcare and a career in healthcare management.

18. National Association of Black Journalists Scholarship Programs
Where: U.S.
Amount: Awards of more than $30,000; each scholarship is worth up to $2500
Eligibility: Open to any foreign or American born students, currently attending an accredited four-year college-university in the U.S. or those who are candidates for graduate school.
All applicants must be members of NABJ in order to qualify for this program. NABJ awards scholarships annually to deserving students interested in pursuing careers in journalism. Scholarships are worth up to $2,500.

19. The Actuarial Diversity Scholarship
Where: U.S.
Amount: Between $1000 and $4000
Eligibility: Available to applicants who have at least one parent who is a member of the following minority groups: Black/African American, Hispanic, Native North American, Pacific Islander. The applicant must be a full-time undergraduate student at a U.S. accredited educational institution with a minimum GPA of 3.0, with an emphasis on math or actuarial courses, who intends to pursue a career in the actuarial profession.
The Actuarial Diversity Scholarship promotes diversity within the profession through an annual scholarship program for Black/African American, Hispanic, Native North American and Pacific Islander students.

20. PRSA Diversity Multicultural Scholarship
Where: U.S.
Amount: $1,500
Eligibility: Available to African-American, Native American, Pacific Islander, Asian, Alaskan Native, or Hispanic/Latino college juniors or seniors that are majoring or minoring in public relations or a similar field.
Two non-renewable awards are available annually. Established in 1989, the PRSA Diversity Multicultural Scholarship is meant to support and value academic accomplishment in young minority students who are pursuing a degree in public relations.

21. AICPA Scholarship for Minority Accounting Students
Where: Universities in the U.S.
Amount: Individual awards of up to $5,000 per academic year
Eligibility: Available to permanent residents of the U.S. only, who are accepted into a university.
Application must include two essays, two letters of recommendation and a resume. This is a renewable award, but renewals are not guaranteed, and one must apply again the following year for a renewal. Students selected to receive a scholarship must participate in the AICPA Legacy Scholars program, which includes performing at least eight hours of community service per semester to advocate for the CPA profession.

22. NBMBAA National Undergraduate Scholarship Program

Eligibility:
Open to African American students currently enrolled or who are intending to enroll in a management or business undergraduate program.
The scholarship is not automatically renewable, but previous recipients may re-apply. The number varies each year, but one scholarship is awarded annually, at minimum.

23. American Chemistry Society Scholars Program
Where: U.S.
Amount: Up to $5000
Eligibility: Applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent U.S. residents of African-American, Hispanic/Latino or American Indian descent who are full-time students at a high school or accredited college, university, or community college.  Applicants must be majoring in chemistry, biochemistry, chemical engineering or a chemically-related science.
Scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic record, career objective, financial need, leadership ability, participation in school activities, and community service. The highest-rated students are selected as scholarship recipients.

24. UNCF Central Florida Black Nurses Association Scholarship
Where:Florida, U.S.
Amount:  $5000
Eligibility: Available to inhabitants of selected Florida counties (Osceola, Orange, Seminole, Lake) who pertain to a ethnic minority group and are currently enrolled or have the intention of enrolling in a nursing program at a Florida university or college. Applicants must have a 2.5 grade point average, as well as prove financial need.
This scholarship is awarded by the United Negro College Fund and it is non-renewable; the number of grants is dependent on available funding and will vary each year.

25. Elizabeth Wesley Incentive Awards Program
Where:Tacoma/Pierce County, Washington, U.S.
Amount: $350
Eligibility: Open to African American students (9th-11th grade) who are currently enrolled and attending a school in one of the selected school districts of Tacoma/Pierce County, in Washington: Franklin Pierce, Tacoma, Bethel, Puyallup, Clover Park, University Place or Steilacoom. Applicants must also have a 2.5 grade point average in order to qualify for this program.
Every year, the Elizabeth Wesley Incentive Awards Program offers up to 100 non-renewable grants for African American students.

26. Blacks at Microsoft Scholarships
Where: U.S.
Amount: Two $5000 scholarships
Eligibility: Open to high-school seniors of African descent (African American, African, Ethiopian, etc) who plan to attend a four-year college or university in the fall of the year following high-school graduation. Applicants must plan on pursuing a bachelor’s degree in one of the following fields: engineering, computer science, computer information systems, or select business programs (finance, marketing or business administration) and must require financial assistance in order to be able to attend college.
This scholarship is renewable, so the students who continue to meet the criteria can benefit from an annual $5000 award for up to four years. Application requires two letters of recommendation and two essays, among others.

27. Xerox Technical Minority Scholarships
Where: Universities in the U.S.
Amount: between $1000 and $10,000
Eligibility: The Xerox Technical Minority Scholarship provides funding to minority students enrolled in one of the technical sciences or engineering disciplines. This scholarship is available to US Citizens and individuals with Permanent Resident visas.
Xerox is committed to the academic success of all minority students and offers awards between $1,000 and $10,000 to qualified minorities enrolled in a technical degree program at the bachelor level or above.

28. Jimmy A. Young Memorial Education Recognition Award
Where:U.S.
Amount: Up to $1000
Eligibility: Available to undergraduate students who are signed up for a respiratory care program. In order to be eligible, applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.0. However, minorities will receive preference for this scholarship.
The American Respiratory Care Foundation awards one non-renewable $1000 grant each year. Additionally, the beneficiary of the award will be given a certificate of recognition, as well as lodging for one night and free registration for the AARC International Respiratory Congress.

29. Henry N. Brown Scholarship
Where: Virginia, U.S.
Amount: $1000
Eligibility: Open to male African American students who are graduating from a high school situated in one of the selected counties in Virginia: Cumberland, Prince Edward, Spotsylvania.
The Henry N. Brown Family Memorial Scholarship Fund offers two non-renewable grants worth $1000 each, every year.

30. Byron Craig Sessions Scholarship for African American Males

Eligibility:
Available to male African American students between 17 and 25 years old who are intending to enroll at Florida State College at Jacksonville (FSCJ) full-time and keep a GPA of minimum 2.0 throughout the school year.
This is grant if offered annually by Florida State College at Jacksonville to ten deserving students and it is worth $1000. Recipients are able to renew the award for another year.

31. UPSDiversity Scholarship –ASSE

Amount: $5,250
Eligibility:
Open to minority students (College Freshmen through College Seniors) who are U.S. citizens and are majoring in occupational safety and health or a closely related field.
The American Society of Safety Engineers Foundation (ASSEF) and the United Parcel Service (UPS) Foundation form the ASSEF UPS Diversity Scholarship Program, which focuses on minority students in the field of professional safety.

32. SFCC African-American/Willie J. Dennard, Jr. Scholarship

Eligibility:
 Open to African-American students at the South Florida Community College who are inhabitants of select counties in Florida (DeSoto, Highlands, Hardee) and are pursuing an associate’s degree, while maintaining a cumulative GPA of minimum 2.74.
This award offered by South Florida Community College is renewable for up to two additional years, granted that the recipient makes significant scholastic progress toward earning his degree. The number of grants is dependent on how many students are qualified for each individual year.

33. McKnight Doctoral Fellowship
Where: Selected universities in Florida, U.S.
Amount: Up to $5000 in annual tuition for the 3 academic years, plus an annual stipend of $12,000
Eligibility: African-American or Hispanic graduate students (Year 2 through Year 2) who have the intention of seeking a Ph.D. degree in one the following disciplines: arts and sciences, mathematics, business, engineering, health sciences, nursing or the visual and performing arts. Applicants must be U.S. citizens.
The McKnight Doctoral Fellowship Program is designed to address the under-representation of African American and Hispanic faculty at colleges and universities in Florida by increasing the pool of candidates qualified with Ph.D. degrees to teach at the college and university levels.

34. F. Armstrong Scholarship – Cornell College
Where: Cornell College, U.S.
Amount: $16,000
Eligibility: Available to entering freshmen who contribute to campus diversity. Such applicants would include ethnic minority and international students, as well as first generation Americans.
Things that are also considered in the awarding process are leadership, involvement and the ability to contribute to the college’s community.

35. APSMinorities Scholarship Program
Where: U.S.
Amount: $3000
Eligibility: Available to African-American, Hispanic American and Native American high school seniors and college freshmen and sophomores who intend to major in or are currently majoring in physics at a college or university. Only applicants who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents will be considered.
The APS Minority Scholarship helps increase the number of under-represented minorities obtaining degrees in physics. It provides funding and mentoring to minority physics students, helping them enhance their education and successfully prepare for a variety of careers.

36. Eloise Hopson Scholarship

Open to African American graduates of Hattiesburg High School who are planning to obtain a college degree in Journalism, English, Debate, Drama, Forensics or Speech Communications and who have a GPA of 2.5.
The recipient is selected by the Eloise T. Hopson Scholarship Committee chairman, along with members of the Hattiesburg Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.

37. Ventures Scholars Program
Where: U.S.
Amount: $10,000
Eligibility: Available to underrepresented and first-generation college-bound students (high school freshman to college freshman). Requirements include the pursuit of a math or science-based career in order to qualify.
The Ventures Scholars Program is a national membership program designed to help underrepresented and first-generation college-bound students interested in pursuing math- and science-based careers successfully pursue their career goals.

38. Diversity Scholarship
Where: The Adler School of Professional Psychology, U.S.
Amount: $10,000
Eligibility: Open to entering students at the Adler School of Professional Psychology. Priority is given to applicants who belong to ethnic, racial, religious, cultural, and sexual identity groups that have traditionally been underrepresented populations in the field of psychology.
This scholarship requires demonstration of a commitment to diversity, as it relates to one’s interest in psychology in order to be considered.

39. Diversity Out-of-State Tuition Waiver – University of Idaho
Where: The University of Idaho, U.S.
Amount:
Varies
Eligibility: Available to students (College Freshman through 5th Year Graduate Students) from diverse ethnic backgrounds, who are attending the University of Idaho. You must be from outside of Idaho and have a minimum 2.0 GPA in order to qualify.
By maintaining the required minimum GPA, recipients are guaranteed this level of funding for up to four years.

40. George T. Snyder, Jr. Diversity Scholarship
Where: U.S.
Amount: $2,500
Eligibility: Open to those who are from a traditionally underrepresented group in the management and operation ranks of the transportation, travel and tourism industry; open to both American Bus Association and non-ABA members. Applicants must have completed at least a year of an accredited post-secondary program in fields relevant to transportation, travel or tourism with a GPA of minimum 3.0
The George T. Snyder, Jr. Scholarships recognize deserving students who demonstrate scholastic ability, leadership, character, diversity, and the potential to be future leaders in the transportation, travel, and tourism industry.

41. Diversity Scholars Scholarship – University of Idaho
Where: University of Idaho, U.S.
Amount: Varies
Eligibility: Full-time undergraduate and graduate students (College Freshman to 5th Year Graduate Students) from diverse ethnic backgrounds attending the University of Idaho.
Students do not need to fill out any scholarship applications.  All students that meet the scholarship criteria will be considered.

42. Idaho Minority and 'At-Risk' Scholarship

Eligibility:
Available to Idaho high school students who are first-generation college students, migrant farm workers or dependents of migrant farm workers, are disabled or part of an underrepresented minority. Applicants must also plan to attend an eligible Idaho college or university.
This scholarship is awarded based on financial need (which must be demonstrated in order to be considered) and it is renewable for up to 3 years. Around 40 grants are awarded annually.

43. YMCAof Greater Rochester Enhancement of Diversity Scholarship
Where: Universities in the U.S.
Amount: $3000
Eligibility: Open to racial/ethnic minority students (College Sophomore through College Senior) who have a strong interest in YMCA involvement. Must be a full-time or part-time student matriculated at an accredited college or university with a minimum of one semester completed. In addition, the applicant must have an interest in post-graduate career opportunities with the YMCA, in order to qualify.
Any winner of this grant must also serve time as an intern at least 16-20 per week at the YMCA during the school year and full-time during the summer.

44. 100 Black Women Scholarship

Amount: $500
Eligibility:
Available to female African American freshman students, residents of Suffolk County or Nassau. In addition, applicants must have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 in order to be considered for this grant.
Involvement in community service and high school average will be considered in the process of awarding the scholarship.

45. NBNA Scholarship Program

Eligibility:
Available to members of NBNA and members of local chapters who are currently enrolled in a nursing program and are in a good scholastic standing at the time of application. Applicants must demonstrate involvement in the African American Community and student nurse activities in order to be considered for this program.
Application requires two letters of recommendation - one from applicant's school of nursing and one from the local chapter, or a nurse in the area if a local chapter does not exist - and a two-page written essay.

46. 2nd Century Fund Minority Scholarship – African-American

Open to African American undergraduates (freshman – senior) currently enrolled in the teacher education program at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
The number of scholarships offered by the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee to minority students who are majoring in education varies depending on the number of eligible candidates and the funding it receives in each individual year.

47. Minority Affairs Committee's Minority Scholarship Awards for College Students

Amount: $1000 per student (approximately 10 scholarships each year)
Eligibility: Open to undergraduates in chemical engineering, members of a minority group that is under-represented in chemical engineering (African-American, Hispanic, Native American, Alaskan Native, Pacific Islander.)
In addition to this award, The Outstanding Scholastic Achievement Award, which consists of a certificate and honorarium, may be awarded to eligible applicants. No separate application form is required for that award.

48. BASF/Alfred Chisholm Memorial Scholarship Fund

Eligibility: Available to undergraduate sophomore, junior and senior students enrolled at Historically Black Colleges and Universities.
Application requires two letters of recommendation – one from a faculty member familiar with the applicant’s academic abilities and another from a civic or community leader – and a 250-word essay.

50. Foot Locker Foundation, INC-UNCF Scholarship

Available to freshman, sophomore, junior and senior students who can demonstrate unmet financial need.
Requirements include an essay and a letter of recommendation from a faculty member, employer or other community member familiar with your academic performance.

51. Frito Lay Arts Scholarship

Eligibility:
Open to descendants of the following ethnicities: African American/Black, American Indian – Alaska Native, Asian Pacific Islander American, Hispanic American, Caucasian, Other Ethnicity who are U.S. citizens, nationals or permanent residents. In order to be eligible, applicants must major in Performing or Visual Arts related field (Fine Arts, Graphic Arts, Mass Media Arts, Performing Arts, Theater Arts/Drama, Visual Arts) and have a 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale. Only applicants who demonstrate financial need will be considered.
To be fully considered for this scholarship students must complete the application form and invite two references to complete a recommendation form via the UNCF application system.

52. A.G. Gaston Endowed Memorial Scholarship

Open to African American students who are planning to enroll or are already studying at the UAB School of Business. 24-30 semester hours must be taken by applicants in order to be considered eligible.
This grant is not automatically renewable, but former recipients are free to re-apply up to four years. Among the aspects considered in the awarding process are the academic achievements of the applicants, as well as financial need.

53. Hallmark/UNCF Scholars Program

Eligibility: Available to African American/Black, American Indian - Alaska Native, Asian Pacific Islander American, Hispanic American students (Juniors, Seniors) who are attending a 4-year college and majoring in one of the following fields: Accounting, Business, Computer Engineering, Computer Science/MIS, Economics, Electrical Engineering, English, Finance, Graphic Arts, Illustration, Industrial Design, Industrial Engineering, Interactive Design, Marketing, Mechanical Engineering, Photography/Video, Supply Chain Management and Logistics. A minimum GPA of 3.0 is required in order to be considered for this program.
Internship opportunities are also available for those who meet the necessary criteria to qualify.

54. Jacqueline Feignenson Scholarship

Eligibility:
Open to African American/Black students who are U.S. citizens, nationals or permanent residents and are currently attending a UNCF college or university. The required GPA for this scholarship is of 2.5.
Application includes an essay. This scholarship is a non-renewable, one-time award.

Eligibility: Available to applicants who are enrolled full-time at a UNCF member college or university and are U.S. citizens, U.S. nationals or permanent residents. In addition, applicants must also have a minimum required GPA of 2.5 and demonstrate financial need.
Historically the Wells Fargo Scholarship program has been a multi-year commitment, allowing UNCF the opportunity to support new students while renewing those students who continue to meet the eligibility criteria each year.

63. Women of Faith Scholarship

The American Association of Advertising Agencies offers $5000 awards to multicultural U.S. students who hold undergraduate degrees and show creative talent.

66. VSGC Undergraduate STEM Bridge Scholarship

Eligibility: Available to federally-recognized minorities (African American, Hispanic/Latino, Native American, or Pacific Islander) who are college sophomore students enrolled in a full-time program of study in science, technology, engineering, or math (STEM) at one of the five Virginia Space Grant institutions.
The number of awards may vary according to the funds available and the number of eligible applicants. Last year, 24 awards were given.

67. AMS/Industry Minority Scholarships

The application for this scholarship includes a letter of recommendation and copy of SAT scores. Funding for the scholarships is provided by industry and through donations made by members to the AMS 21st Century Campaign.

70. American Meteorological Society (AMS) Graduate Fellowship

71. AMS Graduate Fellowship in the History of Science

73. Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) and Strategic Systems Programs (SSP) Scholarship

Open to students who are an enrolled member of an American Indian tribe, Alaska Native, or Native Hawaiian or otherwise considered to be part of those minorities by one of these groups. In order to be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must be enrolled or accepted for enrollment in a Historically Black College or University (HBCU), Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI) or other Minority Serving Institution (MI) with an ABET-accredited engineering program and pursue a Navy-relevant Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) degree.
An AISES membership is required for this scholarship, as well as a minimum GPA of 3.0. Financial need must be demonstrated in order to be considered. More information regarding selection based on minority group membership is available on the website.

This scholarship awarded by The Cleveland Foundation is renewable and the amount varies each in each individual year, depending on number of eligible applicants and funding.

75. George Washington Carver Scholarship Fund

The grant can consist of $10, 000 or more, depending on the student’s involvement in the organization and availability of funds.Grants are not based solely on grade point average, or scores on college entrance exams; however, these factors are considered.

The Exxon Mobil Foundation has a strategically focused vision supporting math and science education, economic opportunities for women and malaria prevention.

78. United Negro College Fund/Citibank Fellows Program

Eligibility: Available to African American, Asian, American Indian/Alaskan Native or Hispanic students who are residents of Tennesse and have been admitted to Pellissippi State Community College, with a GPA of at least 2.5. Applicants must also qualify for Financial Aid in order to be eligible for this grant.
The scholarship will be divided and half of it will be received in the fall semester and will only be renewed in the following semester if the recipient continues to meet the necessary criteria.

82. Dell Corporate Scholars Program

83. CT Minority Teacher Incentive Grant Program

This program is meant to help college students who are members of a minority group and interested in teaching by covering education costs in return for teaching in a Connecticut public school.

84. Minority & Women's Postgraduate Scholarship for Careers in Athletics

The goal of the enhancement programs is to increase the pool of and opportunities for qualified minority and female candidates in intercollegiate athletics through postgraduate scholarships.

85. William Randolph Hearst Endowed Fellowship for Minority Students

The Morgan Stanley Richard B. Fisher Scholars Program is a scholarship program established to provide Black, Hispanic, Native American and LGBT students with a financial award for exceptional academic achievement. Students of all majors and disciplines are encouraged to apply.

A limited number of scholarships are awarded to students who don't have financial need or don't apply for financial aid.

Minority Nurse co-sponsors an annual scholarship with NCEMNA to help outstanding nurses from underrepresented groups complete their studies toward a Bachelor or Master of Science in Nursing. To date, they have awarded scholarships to more than 40 students, honoring their commitment to the profession, academic excellence, and community service.
